Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Mason City, an IHG Hotel

The property was superb. No problem. It’s just that I canceled and rescheduled within the free cancel time and I was still charged on my credit card. Trying to get ahold of someone to aid this 87 year old lady with this chore was very stressful. After writing about 5 notes on here asking for a refund, FIALLY someone phoned me. Helped me get the refund. I was told that since I was booking this reservation thru someone other than the hotel, it was not their problem. I should seek out whomever I was dealing with. I decided, never again, I will go straight to the hotel, no middle man involved.

Overall cleanliness- rooms, linens, common areas, hallway. Smells really good!

The breakfast was good. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent.

We have stayed here when in the area for family events and have always found the rooms to be clean, the breakfast bar to be fantastic ( choices available and quality), and the staff to be very friendly. I do have one suggestion for an additional bench out front that is a nonsmoking area. Mornings with a cup of coffee in fresh air are relaxing.

Loved the bedding and pillows, Other family member had a suite and I have to say I was also impressed.
